The problem
A school with day students and boarders needs fees, hostel billing, results and parent communication to agree with each other, and payments must be checked before they change what a family owes.
What we built
A single system with student, parent and staff accounts. Each student has a wallet that parents fund; payments go through an approval workflow before they are applied; hostel fees bill alongside school fees. Parents receive their portal login details, fee reminders and result notifications by email and SMS.

Engineering challenges
Payments that cannot half-apply
Approving a payment updates the payment, the wallet and the ledger inside one database transaction, so an approval either completes fully or not at all.
